Project Overview

Howden Medihub is the dedicated application created by Howden, an insurance brokerage company. This application serves as a simple and convenient intermediary between clients and insurance companies for relevant medical expenses and claims.

After exploring the app for some time, there are noticeable pain points that not only I, but many other users have addressed. This project features suggested changes that could be made from pre v9.1.3 in 2023

App Evaluation

Pain points

The pain points identified during the evaluation draw from reviews from both the Google PlayStore and the Apple AppStore. Below are some referenced reviews.

Referencing the reviews above and throughout the different store pages, the following issues can be inferred:
- The process to navigate to "File Claims" are tedious.
- The user interface is not visually pleasing
- User flow can be improved.

Heuristic Evaluation

The heuristic evaluation of the application provided certain issues with relatively high severity, from Recognition and Recall, to Help and Documentation. Below contains a document reference for the heuristics and the referenced screenshots.

User A/B Testing & Comparison

After drafting and laying out a new visual design for the application, I brought it to be tested with some audience to gather data on which variant they'd prefer. The data was collected via Telegram using a poll bot.

Overall, most visual updates are well-received and the layout improves the experience. Below contains the documents of User A/B testing and the data.
